The Department of Child Support Services must be able to locate the parent obligated to pay support to obtain a child support order and collect payments. To find the parent, the child support agency uses information from many sources. The custodial party is a key source of information. Custodial parties are asked to provide information regarding the parent obligated to pay support such as: the birth date, social security number, employer, address, and driver’s license number. With this information, a wide variety of data bases throughout the United States are used to obtain location and income information.
