Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento

  • Family and Children Department - General information about the Family and Children Department within the Sacramento County Superior Court.
  • Family Court Services - Custody and Visitation - General information about child custody and visitation mediation. Please contact the Family Law Facilitator if you have additional questions about obtaining an order for custody and visitation.
  • Family Law Facilitator / Self-Help Center - Provides free help to individuals not represented by an attorney. They provide information to help complete and process forms and understand court procedures. Services are free.

  • Capital Pro Bono - Free legal services for low-income residents of Northern California including Family Law Assistance, Guardianship, Conservatorship, Probate, and Misdemeanor Expungement. Note: All services are free. However, you must qualify for services based on income, asset, and residency restrictions.​

  • Child Abduction - Sacramento District Attorney - Information regarding child abduction and resources available to Sacramento County residents. 
  • Customer Connect / Self-Service - California Child Support's self-service platform, giving you 24-7 access to the information you need about your case. You will need your Participant ID (PAR ID) to register or log in. Your PAR ID can be found on most letters sent from California Child Support Services to case participants, usually at the top of the page. You may also call your local child support office to obtain this information. 
  • Guide and File / Family Law - Free online service to complete family law legal forms for court. Note: Sacramento County does not accept electronic filings. You must print and file your documents directly with the court. Standard court filing fees apply.​

  • Sacramento Employment & Training Agency (SETA) - Overview of the services​ that SETA offers Sacramento County residents, including employment, childcare, and refugee services. Services are free and bilingual services are available.​
  • SETA Sacramento Works / Job Seeker - This program has 10+ job centers throughout Sacramento County for job seekers, which assists with various employment and training opportunities. Resources are available for both youth and adults. Services are free and bilingual services are available.

  • State of California Job Opportunities - Search and apply for jobs with the State of California.   
  • Employment Development Department (EDD) - Job search information and resources.  File claims for unemployment, disability, or paid family leave benefits through EDD.  
  • EDD / Job Seeker Information - Offers a variety of comprehensive services and programs like job search and resume workshops, job fairs and referrals, and training to job seekers at no cost.

  • Elk Grove Adult and Community Education - Offers educational and career training programs for adults in Elk Grove and the surrounding communities. Their programs include High School Diploma/Equivalency (HSD/HSE), English as a Second Language (ESL), community education and workforce training, career training, workforce development, and refugee support services. Most services are free; however, some courses/services are fee based.
  • Folsom Cordova Adult School - Offers educational programs and services to adults (18+) in Rancho Cordova and the surrounding communities. Their programs include High School Diploma/Equivalency (HSD/HSE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), Adult Basic Education (ABE), Career Education, Workplace Skills, English as a Second Language (ESL), United States Citizenship, and the Parent Participation Co-Op Preschool Program. Most services are free; however, some courses/services are fee based.
  • Sacramento City Unified School District Adult Education - Offers educational programs and services to adults (18+) in Sacramento and the surrounding communities. Their programs include Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Equivalency (HSE), Adults with Disabilities, Career Technical Education, and Parent Participation Preschool. Most services are free; however, some courses/services are fee based.
  • Sacramento Public Library - Adult Education - Offers resources for Sacramento residents (18 and older; or 16 and older and not enrolled in high school) seeking assistance with their High School Completion/Equivalency, adult literacy, career development, and health literacy. Services include online high school and career path courses, personal tutoring for GED exam prep and other adult literacy programs, free books and instructional materials for enrolled learners, virtual job coaches and digital career resources. Most services are free with a library card; however, some courses/services are fee based. 
  • San Juan Unified School District Adult Education - Assists adults in High School Completion/Equivalency (HSD/HSE), learning English as a secondary language (ESL), career technical education (CTE), as well as enrichment courses through a Community Education Program. Career Technical Education & Workforce Readiness are also available. HSD/HSE and ESL courses are free of charge, while the CTE and community education courses are fee based.
  • Twin Rivers Adult School​ - Assists adults with achieving their educational and career goals, including GED preparation, high school diploma and ESL courses, citizenship preparation, and construction workforce training.  Services are free and bilingual services are available.

  • 211 Sacramento - Provides free confidential information and referral services 24 hours a day, seven days a week to more than 1,600 nonprofit and public agency programs.  Assistance is available in multiple languages, and services are accessible to people with disabilities. ​
  • Birth & Beyond Family Resource Centers - This collaborative consists of Family Resource Centers in nine neighborhoods in Sacramento County. Family Resource Centers provide a range of services, activities, and opportunities that respond comprehensively to the needs of local residents and families. You can complete an online self-referral for services on their website. Services are free and bilingual services are available.
  • Center for Fathers and Families - Connects families with programs that give children a healthy start during the critical first 5 years.  Services are free and bilingual services are available. 
  • Folsom Cordova Community Partnership - Provides assistance and resources to individuals and families through their Family Resource Center and Job Center. Their primary focuses include parent education and support, free family activities, job search assistance,
  • Providing scholarships for career training, professional skill building education, refugee/asylee employment supports, youth leadership and career exploration. This is one of the nine Birth & Beyond Family Resource Centers in Sacramento County.  Services are free and bilingual services are available.
  • La Familia Counseling Center - Provides multicultural counseling, outreach, and support services to low income, at-risk youth and families in Sacramento County. This is one of the nine Birth & Beyond Family Resource Centers in Sacramento County.  Services are free and bilingual services are available.
  • Next Move Homeless Services - Assists homeless individuals and families with emergency and permanent housing needs. They focus on self-sufficiency and self-reliance through various programs. Services are free and bilingual services are available.
  • Sac Family Connect - Network of more than 30 agencies across Sacramento County that offers home visiting and other family support services, with First 5 Sacramento serving as the backbone agency of the collaborative. Their website offers a tool to locate free resources for individuals and families. Services are free and bilingual services are available.
  • Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center - Offers various services and resources for victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, human trafficking, sexual assault, and child abuse all in one place. Services are free and bilingual services are available.
  • ​WEAVE - Women Escaping a Violent Environment - Provides an array of crisis intervention, therapeutic counseling, legal, and prevention services to meet the unique needs of survivors, their families, and the community. Services include 24-hour Support & Information Line, two confidential emergency shelters, transitional housing, crisis intervention and safety planning services, legal assistance, therapeutic counseling, and youth and community prevention education programs. Most services are free; however, some fees apply.
